To grow and to serve

To grow and to serve emphasizes the importance of hard work, academic success, self discipline and the associated development of character. The Academy Spirit means that we support each other, we are not judgmental, we are tolerant and always look for a better way forward. The last few years have been a time for rapid development in Cyprus, in Larnaca and in the American Academy itself. For example today 95% of our graduates go on to higher education having achieved very good examination results which have improved year on year. The growth of our school to nearly 1,000 in the high school in addition to the 200 in the Junior School has brought us many opportunities and along with these many challenges. Every challenge itself provides even more opportunities for us to progress such as meeting the need for more classrooms with the most advanced environmentally friendly building yet seen in Cyprus. This is aptly named the Centenary Building. We like challenges – they keep us on our toes. How we respond is a measure of our worth. This great seat of learning survives on team-work and mutual support. By working together: alumni, staff, parents and students we have achieved and can continue to achieve great things. From all that has happened and continues to happen as our long history unfolds we believe more than ever that the American Academy Larnaca is the living embodiment of to grow and to serve.
